VILLAGE CENTER COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES AUG 7, 2007

Attendees:  John and Mary Williamson, Jan Conover, Ted Cady, 2 visitors to town

The meeting was called to order by Ted Cady at 3:07 pm. 

Apparently the visitors had been informed that the proposed Subdivision Regulations would prevent them from selling lots on land they expected to acquire in the near future, and they came to this meeting hoping to express their concerns.  The role of the various committees and boards was explained to them and they were given the meeting dates.  They stayed for awhile and then quietly left. 

The name of the committee was discussed and it was agreed to keep it as the Village Center Committee. 

The Use Table was discussed in detail.  It was compared to the vote taken at the Village Center Public Meeting and to results of the Zoning Survey.  The discussion was far ranging.  The Use Table categories were compared to the Zoning Bylaw Prohibited and Permitted Uses.  The Use Table decisions made at the ZTF Meeting were revisited and some were questioned.  There was some difficulty by some in granting special consideration to the Village Center if it meant that the same rights were not available to all landowners in town.  It was difficult to reach decisions on many aspects of the Use Table. Some decisions were reached:
	1.  It appears that the Use Table may not include all the Permitted and Prohibited Uses in the Zoning.  Ted will make a more careful analysis.
	2.  The by-right construction of the designated commercial activities in the Village Center District that met Performance Standards could be considered for the entire town. 
	3.  People from the Village Center should be included on the Committee.  Mary has made a list of potential committee members. 
	4.  For the next meeting'
		A.  Mary will call a list of people by Aug 15 to see if they want to be on 
the committee and the best time of day for a meeting for them and forward list to Ted. 
		B.  Jan will Xerox Village Center Map by Aug 10 
		C.  Ted will mail Meeting Notice, Map, Use Table and Performance 
Standards to those identified by Mary about 10 -14 days before meeting
