Transition Towns Video Film Festival is Taking Off! Make your movie about "Looking Back to the Future: Envision how your town can become more environmentally and economically sustainable in 2030." Here's how: FREE ongoing workshops, training, assistance and guidance * All through the summer the Transitional Town Film Project Group will email new information, workshop schedules and timeline updates to all those who are on our email list. Possible small working group sessions may be scheduled if requested by email or phone. * Otis Wheeler will be available at the BNCTV Studios on the PVRS Campus for personal assistance, throughout the summer by appointment. FREE use of equipment, cameras, microphones, and editing software available at BNCTV Filmmakers are encouraged to train before using this equipment and seek filming advice and/or technical instruction from a BNCTV staff person. BNCTV staff can also assist with editing using your program or using BNCTV editing software on site. FREE examples * For ideas, hints, and examples on the art and craft of filmmaking, view the presentations by three local filmmakers: Rawn Fulton, Steve Alves and Kerry Kazokas on www.BNCTV.net. * Handouts from workshops and various resource lists are available from the Transition Town Film Project Group and will be online at www.northfieldareatransition.org/ as well as at www.BNCTV.net. Timeline: The Transition Towns Film Festival will be held mid-October 2011 * The submission deadline will be one month prior to The Transition Towns Film Festival * Upon the submission deadline, 2 non-returnable DVD copies must be submitted by mail to: Transition Towns Film Festival/BNC-TV 97 F. Sumner Turner Road, Northfield, MA 01360 With submissions due mid September, we encourage you to: *Enjoy, have fun and let us help you create your film. *Ask for help. *Develop a concept or theme to convey that is within the contest rules. *Create a pre-production script / location sequence / prop and equipment list. *Work with a buddy system when possible. *Have a rough cut screening with Otis or other tech support people well before the mid-September submission date.
