Meeting Minutes Town of Warwick, MA September 18, 2009 Hastings Pond Road Pole Hearing Continuation / Selectboard Meeting 10am Friday Selectboard members in attendance: Nick Agruimbau, chairman; Patricia Lemon; Frederick Abbott. For others in attendance see attached sign in sheet which is incorporated by reference. Chairman Arguimbau called the meeting and hearing to order at 10 a.m. under the maple tree at 100 Hastings Pond Rd. The concerns regarding the maple tree at No. 100 were accomplished by moving the pole location to the other side of the road. Mr. and Mrs. Renna agreed to provide an easement for the anchor required for this alternate pole location. The arborist answered Mr. Cadwell's question regarding conductor location and the close proximity of the bole of a large oak tree. Generally 10 foot vertical and 6 foot horizontal clearance is needed for conductors, this is most important for branches. The large oak would not need to be cut. Pole placement near Mr. Sach's home at No. 73 involves placing a stub pole and guy wire to replace an anchor tree. Clearances are not an issue as there is no conductor. The utility company indicated they see no problem removing the easements in the field in exchange for the altered pole placement at No. 100. Mr. Songer, tree warden, indicated a desire to meet with the utility before tree cutting. This was agreed. Selectboard voted to close the hearing. Mr. Abbott moved approval of the amended plan. There being no second the motion failed. Ms. Lemon moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Mr. Abbott. Motion carried.
