Species Space Cadets Subcommittee report on birds, reptiles and amphibians, invasive species, migratory critters, and mammals, including a write up for report with Lists in appendix. Species Space Cadets need to meet to pull together the section - many lists are well-started. Chapter 61 write-up by Mary Williamson: she isn't ready yet. She will try to have it next time. Criteria for acquisition of unprotected land by Mary Williamson: Skipped due to lack of time, to be addressed next time. Comments on Section 4 - Conn. River, Ashuelot River, and incorporating letter from Pat Swain by Species Space Cadets and Dave Shepardson (Meeting Needed) to Kimberly/Whitty by July 1 Clare Green's suggestion of easel for library to get additional comments: To be discussed further at the next meeting. We are confused how to use this to meet our goals. Dave Shepardson and others - circle historic sites and natural areas on Charlie Morse' Map to include in Scenic Resources Map and not on 2002 Scenic Resources Map - Dave is still working on this map. Others should be ready to prepare at the next meeting too Warwick Broadband Committee write-up for Section 3 - Reva Reck and Miryam Williamson rewrote the section and it was sent out. Well Done! 4. National Heritage - Additional properties for Chapter 3. Patricia Lemon got a copy of these properties from the Warwick Historic Commission. Many are already on the other list. Please check list for errors and omissions. Pat will check this list against the list currently in Chapter 3. 4. Committee Reports - None Equestrian Caucus - Working on Trail Maintenance Guide - No work has been done yet. Becky Gallagher from the Massachusetts Trail Riders Association would be interested in helping the Equestrian Caucus work on this. Ted has past on her contact info to the Equestrian Caucus. This is an optional section, and can wait to near the end of the project to have this reviewed. Trails include not just state land trails but also private land. Different trail users (equestrian, trail bikes, 4-wheelers, hikers, etc.) need different aspects in trail maintenance. Teen Subcommittee - Meeting June 13 at Town Hall – Chris Duerring will get a big map from Greenfield and are moving ahead at 11:00 with pizza. Friends of Mt. Grace State Forest - Meeting in June on Tuesday, June 16 for mission statements and names; and also decide who can be voting members. 5. Review Section 5 - No one has looked at it and this needs to be worked on at next session. Beth Gilgun from Warwick Assessor's has an accurate list that has been given to FRCOG to include. We now have Conservation Restrictions and Chapter 61A and 61B. 6. Review each person's concerns from last time (see Minutes) – select top 5 or 6 and an advocate for each item who will do a one paragraph write-up for next meeting - Ted will bring printed copies to the next meeting, but please look at these beforehand. 7. Review Ted's Comparison of 2009 Survey to 2001 Survey and Patricia's write-up. In many ways, not many differences for Section A. (Ted tells a story about "Kilroy was here" from WWII - it was Larry Kilroy's father that would crawl into tiny inaccessible spots to due inspections. Larry Kilroy told Ted this story.) 8. Start work on goals - What was accomplished from 2002: Skipped due to lack of time. 9. Assignments and items for meeting June 24 (Kimberly will not be there) and July 10 Mary Williamson notes that the MMM trail was designated as a New England National Scenic Trail. A celebration will be held in Hadley. 10. Adjourned at 9:14 p.m.
