MOORE'S POND BEACH COMMITTEE MINUTES Monday, May 15th, 2017 Present: Kathy Connelly, treasurer; Diane Ellis, Sec; David Shepardson, Chair, Jim Mccrea and Barbara Walker Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm Review of Minutes: Minutes of the March 2017 meeting were accepted as amended. Treasurer report- Total treasurer is currently $1,115.08. The $140.00 fee from Rita McConville's bill for the Collection of Water Samples at Moore's Pond from 5 weeks in May 23-June 27, 2016 will be added to and spread out over May and June fees for 2017 as the town manager neglected to put it on a warrant for a vote at the next Town Meeting. To prevent this problem in the future Rita will submit a bill for May and June and she will paid out of the current fiscal year and then submit a bill again for July, August, and September to be paid from in the new town fiscal year. Water testing lab bills are paid weekly. Operating permit- Dave has received the operating permit. Conflict of Interest - no interest in completing this. Schedule of Beach Activities Beach Clean-is scheduled for Saturday May 20th from 10 to 12. Beach Opening Party is scheduled for June 24th at 1:00PM. Jim will provide some music. Cardboard pick up at public beach and boat ideas-August 15-5:00PM Old Home Day Corregatta -2:00PM Sunday, August 27 Vote on new Officers- according to Leanne the town recreation committee is small and will help with individual projects the beach committee has as they come up. She suggested we advertise for our needs. There is no one to take over chairman of beach committee so Dave has agreed to hang in until more interest can be generated. Diane will put a notice in the newsletter and Jim will post a request on the L. Old Home Day Boat Race will be Sunday, August 27th. Time of the race is 2:00PM on Sunday, August 27th. Beach committee will have a lead up event which will include providing cardboard to interested boat builders. Committee members are asked to collect cardboard and boat construction ideas and bring the cardboard to 8 South Holden Rd, Kathy and Matt's camp next to the beach on Tuesday, August 15th by 5:00PM. Diane wrote an article for newsletter generating excitement and interest in boat making and will follow next month with an article about cardboard pickup. Diane will also see if we can post our paper work and information about the race on the town website. Old Business- Nothing has come up from town about the McKnight property. New Business-Walt Farley caught a fat 17" rainbow trout out of Moore's Pond. Does anyone know if that is a recond? Meeting adjourned at 7:30!
