Beach Committee Meeting 
March 5, 2012 6:30 PM

Present:  Kathy Connelly, Gloria Varno, Dave Shepardson, Bev Shepardson,
Clare Green (arrived 6:40 PM)

Meeting called to order at 6:33 PM

Notes:

Minutes of January 9, 2012 unanimously approved with changes and
addendum to blocks and sizes.

Ice cutting event was well attended, a nice family affair as well as
educational.  Everyone enjoyed the participation.  Ice cutting equipment
on hand was 3 saws, 6 tongs, an ice marker and a push/pull pole.  We
invited everyone to bring any ice cutting equipment they have so we can
have an inventory of what is in town.  A call goes out to all for Old
Home Days if anyone has the old hand crank ice cream makers.

The newspaper articles were great.  Greenfield Recorder was present and
did a great job taking pictures and a write-up.  Athol Daily News was
not present but Clare sent in pictures and a write-up and it got put in
a week or so later but was done well.

April 14th is our scheduled Lasagna Dinner in conjunction with Wooden
Fender.  We are planning the following menu:

Lasagna = Kathy 2 meat, Gloria 2 meat, Bev 1 Veggie, Jim? 1 Veggie,
Clare 1 Veggie

Salad and dressing = Kathy will get 3 large bags

Bread and Butter = Gloria

Desserts = Brownies and Cookies (Kathy, Pat, Bev and Gloria)

Coffee, Tea, and Lemonade = Kathy

Kathy has plenty of decorations.

Another group is scheduled to be using the Town Hall that day but have
said they they will be out by 4:45PM so we can begin setup.

Kathy will put together a write-up for the newsletter and get a copy to
Al Morgan on the Arts Council for posting.

Dinner is scheduled for 6:00 PM.

Bev is going to check with Hannaford's who she said donates paper goods
to functions so she is going to see if we can get some napkins and
papercups.

The Arts Council has to get the permit for the event and we have to list
who is bringing food for the health department.

Clare donated a basket but we think we will keep it for Old Home Day
Raffle. The spring cleanup is schedule for May 19th at 10 AM with a
raindate of May 20th at 1 PM.  More information to come.

Nothing new on water testing.
