Beach Committee Meeting
January 9, 2012 6:30 PM

Meeting called to order at 6:30 PM.

Notes:

Minutes of October 24, 2011 minutes unanimously approved with changes to
name misspelled.

Kathy wants to represent the beach committee on the 250th Anniversary
Committee.  She wants to check with folks in Bernardston who are
celebrating their anniversary this year and see what plans they had.

Kathy said she had pictures of Old Home Days she would like to share so
Gloria told her that David Young has a 'picture of the day' on the
website which he could probably use pictures so she will see David.

Water testing results were received and Kathy summarized them on the
attached sheet.  We had another year of excellent results.

Kathy is applying to the Dept of Public Health to see if we can get the
testing done every other week this year.

The bill was received for $640 and we had enough money in the account to
pay for the testing.  If we get approved for every other week, it will
cut the cost next year in half.

Jim confirmed April 14th as an open date with Wooden Fender that the
beach committee can coordinate a dinner.  We chose the same menu as last
year, lasagna, salad, bread, dessert and beverages.

Dave has the shed built for the ice cutting procedure.  He was up in
Fitzwilliam NH talking to someone who had a mill closed 6 years ago and
he has sawdust available, free of charge.  All we have to do is shovel
it into a truck.  Dave is going to see if they can get a truck and go up
one night this week.

We have picked a tentative date for the ice cutting test which is
scheduled for Feb 11, 2012 with a storm date of Feb 12th.  Kathy will
prepare a notice to put in the newsletter and on line.  Dave thinks we
should cut about 27 blocks (24" by 18" stacked 3 X 3 X 3 high).  He said
he has records dating back to 1909 where they cut 125 'cakes' and 700
'cakes'.  We don't need that many.

Spring Beach Cleanup is tentatively scheduled for May 19, 2012 at 10 AM.
 Raindate of May 20, 2012 at 1 PM.

The beach party which was canceled to the storm during Old Home Days is
tentatively rescheduled to June 16, 2012 with a raindate of June 23,
2012.  More details will come on all of these tentative dates.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 5, 2012 at 6:30 PM with
