Warwick Historical Society Minutes - September 21, 2016 Present: Charlie Brown, Michael Carey, Barbara Walker, Mel Kitchen, Larry Carey, Ed Lemon, Martha Morse, Rod and Liz Whipple, Calvin and Freddie Fellows The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. by Larry Carey, president. Secretary's Report: The minutes of the June 8, 2016 meeting were accepted as read. Treasurer's Report: Martha read the report in Arline's absence. . CD balance: $10,505.21 . Savings: 5,238.48 . Checking: 1,404.08 TOTAL: $17,147.77 Receipts included $40 for afghan; $32 T-shirts; $366 Old Home Day Total $438 Payments to NationalGrid totaled $41.62 for 3 months Rodney will complete the annual audit when Arline is feeling better. Old Business 1. Larry gave his President's report and thanked WHS members for their help. 2. There was discussion on the acid free storage container for the Howard collection to be stored in the Town Hall safe. MOTION made by Ed, seconded by Mel to ask the selectboard to store the items in the Town Hall safe. Motion passed unanimously. Larry will contact selectboard regarding this. New Business 1. Barbara Walker spoke of a book on historic barns in Northfield. She will contact the author as a possible speaker for a WHS meeting. 2. Larry said the dehumidifier in the museum is working again, is on a cart, and can be moved from room to room for use in the summer. Thus it is not necessary to buy a new one. 3. Barbara Walker was thanked for her good work on organizing the WHS records. 4. Martha suggested members be sure they have the two current keys to the museum in order to get into the building for summer openings. 5. Membership dues were received from Ed (and Pat) Lemon, Mel Kitchen, Calvin and Freddie Fellows, Charlie and Elaine Brown, Rod and Liz Whipple, Larry Carey, Barbara Walker, and Mike Carey and family.
