Secretary's Report: The minutes of the September 18, 2013 meeting were accepted as read. Treasurer's Report: Arline Lincoln gave the treasurer's report, which was accepted as read. CD balance: $10,239.62 Savings: 5,231.25 Checking: 1,875.40 TOTAL: $17,346.27 Proceeds included $120 dues; $135 book sales (The History of Warwick in 15 Objects); $318 from American Harmony concert; $136 Holiday Fair: Total $709.00. Payments to National Grid totaled $44.74. Aline recommended moving $1,000 from the checking account to the CD. A motion to this effect was seconded and passed unanimously. President's Report Larry noted that sales of WHS products at November 30th Holiday Fair were slower than usual, with generally less activity. Larry said he needs to give up handling sales, with the exception of Old Home Day. He is hoping others will come forward to take over this responsibility. Larry commented on the poor quality of sound on the Old Home Day tape (CD). He said the photography was good. The production cost of $400 was covered by the OHD budget. He noted that Doc Pruyne apparently also produced a tape, which Larry has not seen. Larry recommends buying new motion lights for the security system at the Museum. He has found some for about $40 each, and will continue to look for the best buy. Ed Lemon gave the Curator's Report and it is attached. The business meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. The annual Yankee Gift Swap and refreshments followed. The next quarterly meeting will be held on March 19, 2014. Respectfully submitted, Martha Morse, secretary Curator's Report December 18, 2013 Inventory and Cataloguing By mid-October we had come to a good place to stop operations for the year. Our last few sessions involved discussions about the museum's future as well as finishing off this year's cataloguing. Of course, much remains to be done, but with 1830 separate objects catalogued, the database is truly impressive and its usefulness has been proven over and over again by those who have used it online. Thanks again to my mainstays Freddie, Cal, Bev, Liz and Martha Morse. They are the true heroes of this year's adventure. Web Page I'm way behind on photographing the pictures in the albums already catalogued, but I hope to catch up this winter. I also hope to put up some photos of Tryphena Goldsbury Smith's mural in the attic of the Preserved Smith House. It would be nice if we could provide a transparent cover for this. Donations If I calculate correctly, the museum has brought in around $700 this year in private donations and sales of our book. Additional money has come in from various other sources. It has been a good year. We have received a few more donations of photos and objects, including another copy of Morse's History, and some wallpaper fragments from the house of the Foreman of the Glass Factory. Thanks to Jan Conover for these. Proposal I applied again this year for a grant from the Cultural Council to finance publication of our book on Warwick Houses. If we get the grant, I'll be asking for help with their histories. We also need to decide which houses are to be featured in the book. I am eager to hear your suggestions! Other Once again may I remind you that we need helpers to get oral and video interviews with long-term residents. We have digital recorders that are very easy to use. Some of you, I am sure, have interesting tales to tell and I'll be happy to record them. Just let me know! Respectfully submitted, Ed Lemon, Curator
