Warwick Historical Society Minutes December 16, 2009 The meeting was called to order at 7:20 with 15 people in attendance. Treasurer's report: total of $15, 323.90 in the four accounts. $1,501.23 checking 572.17 savings 3,151.12 18 month CD 10,999.38 6 month CD 15,323.90 TOTAL The treasurer's report was accepted as read. A motion was made and passed to accept the minutes of the September meeting as presented. A discussion followed on purchasing a sound alarm for the Historical Society. Michael Carey gave the following information: The system could either be wired to a central box, or could be wireless with infrared sensors. Both use a loud claxton-type alarm. Michael said the wireless is simple to install and would be more effective; the wired system would take more time. A discussion followed on the best course to follow. Jim Toth suggested inquiring about whether there is any way to integrate the Town Hall system with the Historical Society. Town Hall has a heat alarm, not a motion alarm. Michael will further investigate all the alarm options and their cost before any decision is made by the Society. Calvin Fellows recounted how much he has enjoyed working with Ed Lemon and the other folks (mainly Frederica Fellows, Dave Shepardson, Beverly Shepardson) on archiving HS items on the computer. Their progress so far is available at whs.steamkite.com. Everyone thanked them for a job well done, with much more yet to do in the warmer months. The meeting was adjourned and we enjoyed the Yankee Gift Swap and refreshments. The next meeting will be March 17, 2010. Respectfully submitted, Martha Morse, secretary.
