HOME FUNERAL WORKSHOP -- Miryam Williamson Saturday, November 9 at the Warwick Town Hall. For thousands of years families have taken care of their loved ones at home after death. It is a choice that is still possible. A traditional home funeral is a family-centered response to death. It is different from a conventional funeral in its emphasis on the family maintaining control and decision-making in the days after death. Home funerals allow time to honor your loved one and to grieve in the privacy of your own home. The experience is unique and personal. Workshop 1: 10 am to noon covers the practical, legal, logistical, and personal aspects of home funerals Workshop 2: 1 to 4 pm provides hands-on experience in preparing the body for viewing and burial, including washing, dressing, moving, and carrying People can attend either the morning session, or both. A light lunch will be provided for those staying for the afternoon. There is no charge; contributions to help defray expenses will be appreciated. Presenter is Peg Lorenz, home funeral guide and board member of the Home Funeral Alliance. Registration is required. Attendance at the afternoon workshop is limited to 25. Register by email to .
