Coordinator report August 11, 2016 Town clerk has proposed a slate of election workers for appointment to terms through August of 2017. That slate is represented in a document provided that is in your meeting package. In addition, there is a primary election on the Thursday following Labor Day and that means Election Warrant needs to be signed by the Selectboard and posted by a Constable. Our next accounting / financial meeting is Aug 19 in early afternoon. This is chiefly with the Town Accountant. Dawn has begun reworking the Personnel Policy and has provided a framework which is attached for discussion. I submitted our Broadband project budget and sustainability analysis to MBI this week and included the following message: "Attached is Warwick spreadsheet for our Pilot project. The fiber spreadsheet supplied didn't make much sense so this is my version for wireless. We operate as an Enterprise Fund not a MLP. While the budget is in excess of our construction allocation, we request that soft costs such as engineering, project supervision, etc. be defined as eligible as construction cost. We have a borrowing authorization to backstop us / provide for contingency. We are requesting forward funding. We have begun the upgrade to take advantage of construction season and request that these costs, in advance of the award, are allowed. This includes continued work with Fred Goldstein at Interisle. The most expensive aspect of this build, licensed LTE is our final stage. If crowding / space on DCR Mt Grace H frame is an issue we will propose either a mast on Grace or access to existing Fire tower. I hope this response finds you in time for the August MTC board meeting. I am at your service to provide additional information required." Broadband committee recommend Warwick formally withdrawal from WiredWest, with thanks. This will help WiredWest obtain a quorum for its future meetings. We have a perfected Ambulance contract for execution with the Town of Orange. Our town hall elevator failed inspection, this time for the presence of a heat / smoke / fire sensor located in the hoist-way. State Inspector wants it out. This deconstruction requires we pay our licensed elevator contractor, Eagle, about $600 to stand by while another contractor, most likely Greenwood who are our alarm company, does the work. Is not enough to just unplug the circuit, has to be out of mix, even though seen only at inspection time. I note that we pay our elevator contractor to inspect our lift every other month, and they don't see this coming. First it was rust scale in the "pit" which was slated to cost us $2k. Then following that order the next year our STAR button had to be moved to a different floor. Now, this year, a detection head must be removed. In the good news department, the new kitchen range is installed thanks to work performed by Brian Peters Electric.
