Coordinator report July 7, 2011 Phil Delorey, Building Inspector is on the agenda to discuss the status of building code and zoning by-law enforcement on the Tully Brook Rd properties and building code enforcement on the Hockanum Rd property. A draft of one of the enforcement letters is attached. The owners represented by counsel are submitting NOI to our conservation commission. I have asked that they apply for the variances concurrently. Mr. Delorey and I are seeking the board's agreement to continuing the common practice of doubling permit fees when the project starts before the building permit application is submitted. We may need to go into executive session on the code enforcement matter. As we did last year I am seeing the Selectboard's approval of hiring the WCS janitor as a temporary part-time town employee to work doing painting at the school. He is on half hours with the school over the summer. The Scenic Roads / Shade Tree hearing is Wednesday 7/13 at 7 pm. We were awarded the MBI grant for our WiMax licensed Internet radio project in the amount of $50,000. Two public events by MBI are scheduled on the 13th and 14th. I will attend the later one and Reva will attend the former. We had our annual elevator inspection. We got a three month certificate and to renew I need to get the rust on the formerly flooded pit area brushed and painted. Surner Oil who is our new fuel vendor inspected all the town's oil tanks which they found in good condition. I met with Ed Berry and Brian Miner regarding getting a survey of the property where the new fire station is slated to be built. The Association is working on plans and site preparation. The latest load of bulky waste was another losing proposition. Income remains 70% of expenses with the load costing $1000 and income against it $700. The new highway garage roof is under construction. Green Ray Solar was in to upgrade the solar panel software. Everything has a computer in now. I'll attend the next PVRS Green repair grant meeting. The STM will be likely needed sometime in September once we have firm numbers. Our agent moved us to a different corkers compensation insurer (from Trident to MEGA) resulting almost a thousand dollars in savings owing to a lower premium and to the fact that the new insurer's plan includes the workers assistance program at no additional cost. DHCD withdrew one of their two recommendations stemming from the recent CDBG monitoring. Verizon has requested we set a date for a pole hearing for four new pole locations on Wendell Rd near the intersection of Northfield Rd. In response to the letter signed by Chairman Magi to Rep. Andrews and Sen. Brewer regarding Article 97 lands we received a phone confirmation from Representative Andrews in person and a letter from the Senator saying he will take our support in serious consideration should the matter come before the Senate. Representative Gobi responded via email the same day to say the matter was recommended out of committee. I am working on specifications to get our audit of our books underway. Since this is professional services we don't have to bid it but like insurance can negotiate. We haven't had an audit since FY06. I propose we have FY10 audited. Otherwise we will be doing the FY09 this year and FY 12 next year. Northfield's administrator shared their scope with us. Turns out they hadn't been audited in 18 years.
