Coordinator Report June 6, 2013 Chief Shoemaker has some items he seeks a surplus property declaration upon. I've invited him to give a report or update to the board as well. I will be meeting with the Transfer Station Commissioners on Monday before the Selectboard meeting. I am seeking their recommendation on the FY14 trash hauling MOU which I will bring before the Selectboard for signing. Dupere Law Office is talking with the Inspector General's office regarding the Warwick Municipal Light Plant being a separate entity for purpose of another net metering hosting contract. I may or may not have more to report by Monday. I've updated the MMA on line directory. Strangely they have the Selectboard under a heading of local legislature, right under a declaration that Warwick has open town meeting. By my lights town meeting is our legislature and the Selectboard are the elected executive. We had climbers on the towers on Tuesday replacing two radio base units. The problem turned out to be damaged wires feeding the electronics. The WiMax is completely installed and all that remains is for me to make a few configuration changes to the switch locally. That means I have something wrong going on and have to plug in on-site rather than manage remotely. We did broadband billing late this month, on June 5. Kerry did it pretty independently and with no more errors than I am commonly making. This is one of those monthly tasks that doesn't happen often enough to keep it fresh in mind. I advised a property owner on their zoning special permit application; noticed meetings of the Cemetery Commission and Transfer Station Commissioners; talked a former resident down from making a complaint against an employee who wasn't even in town that day; provided editable town letterhead to a town department; had the highway department investigate an improperly covered water well and referred to BOH; and put the Tech School in touch with Chief Shoemaker to make some changes at the police station. There is a "Farm to School" forum sponsored by the Athol Agricultural Commission on June 12 at Athol HS. I passed the invite on to possibly interested boards and committees. I conferred with the building inspector and helped expedite a permit. I don't think the builder would call it expedited but it got issued. The Fire Dept didn't contact me regarding the $4k DCR grant we discussed at the meeting. Based on my web research the deadline was the same day as we were speaking about it so I suspect that is why. There was a MEMA / VT Yankee drill this week that went off well according to EMD Erviti. I spoke with M. J. Adams at the housing authority and we have begun the process to submit a housing rehab grant application to CDBG. The deadline is near the first of the year. The next step is to update the community development strategy. A resident has donated a couple of file cabinets and I've arranged to have them picked up. I figure we can use them for records storage in the basement rather than banker boxes, especially to secure payroll records. She has also offered a small wood desk that I've accepted. Looks like an upgrade for some town employee's workspace.
