Coordinator report December 8, 2011 Since 26th Dec is observed Christmas holiday we will meet on Tuesday Dec. 27th. We have an opportunity to become part of a solar electric project which will lower our costs by 25 - 30 percent. The project representative will attend the meeting to answer questions. He is on agenda early as he is due at Athol TM later in the evening. Agreement with FD on compensation is currently that folks attend at least half of training and answer half the calls. The chief wants to propose some changes which will be even more equitable and remain within the budget. Police appointments run out in end of Dec and chief will propose renewal appointments. There will be a few deletions. He will communicate directly via email. I corresponded with Sheriff on dog officer program and we should sign an amended MOU to participate. Housing Authority has a situation that needs our attention to resolve. It involves terms of a rehab loan. See the attached e-mail. Highway department has old highway signs to declare surplus which I will auction with proceeds to the general fund with your approval. We also have a few obsolete pcs that we need to get off the books. Mr Whipple's annual class II and III license renewals are pending and require approval and signature. Building and energy committee has nominated Matt Sheldon to its vacancy. He will attend so you may be introduced. I have been speaking with chief Shoemaker regarding patrols and the budget is tight. I would like the board to support taking a reserve fund request forward to pay for more patrols to especially enforce speed limits. I ran a FY13 proforma budget which is included in the package and assumes 2.5% salary / wage increases. Pay no attention to the final two columns re changes as they are not correct. This will give us a general overview and we can discuss the budget process.
