Coordinator Report January 12, 2017 Rosa as Town Clerk has reminded me we need to appoint a point person to be paying attention to Public Records requests. Whoever it is needs to be on it daily in terms of opening mail and e-mail daily so as not to waste the shortened time-window for fulfillment. This week I met with Rec Committee and the Broadband Committee met to discuss cell phones. Next steps are to map coverage and possibly do another survey to the end of assessing whether we might aggregate demand. Another outcome was identification of need to disseminate information about current options including internet attached extenders and Wi-Fi phone apps. Forest Committee met this week and is working with a forester to mark a harvest on Hockanunm Road Town Forest. Their revolving fund will cover these costs. Subsequently any sale will need to be bid. Conservation committee forwarded information regarding funding for culvert replacement which I recommend we look into. I have assisted a few residents with their requests for WiredWest Refunds and I have a simple template for anybody to use. At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday we will hold a Public Hearing on the revised Personnel Policy Transfer Station Commission has yet to meet to discuss the 3rd Party Inspection report and agree to remedial action. I request a vote of the Selectboard authorizing the chair to sign the response to the report that they generate. I listed the vacated school central office modular buildings on eBay and on Craigslist and we have identified one interested buyer to date. The Tech School electrical class replaced the fans in the WCS gym. Our cost is $143 plus 20%. The wire cages were too small to reuse. Rather than store them, is it ok to give them to tech to possibly repurpose? We'll be opening bids on three projects on the 26th. Two are broadband and one the town hall heating / cooling project. Green Communities says we can add WCS to our projects but we only get to take the 10% of the budget that is "ours" which does not make sense. GC isn't sure that we can address matters at WCS with our original "foundation" funding. Warwick was represented by Dawn, Bill Foote, Martha and myself at a joint meeting about Pioneer District this week. The Pioneer budget process is underway and there are weekly meetings on Thursdays which I am attending as a SC member. This year the SC budget hearing will close and the committee will take action at a subsequent meeting after giving matters some thought and perspective. I am still waiting for a technology plan from the school and I am meeting with the school IT staff in Warwick to discuss matters. This team and I are attending a Technology in Education conference in Holyoke next week. I've invited a key regional Cisco representative to the conference. He helped us with our pitch to MBI and his unit is involved in coordinating Cisco's grant making. I'm working on a simple data storage system for PD who have the new body and cruiser cameras and are working of their implementation and use policies. John and David K are working on a new Access dB for WBS billing and accounting system. I completed the 2017 FRCOG wage and salary survey.
