Town of Warwick Cemetery Commission November 23, 2010 Meeting Minutes Town Hall Meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM by chair Jeff Joyce. Present were Jim Toth, Jeff Joyce, Ed Hawes and Miryam Williamson. Minutes of October 13, 2010 were reviewed and accepted as written with Joyce moving the minutes and Hawes seconding and all in favor. Bills: Toth moved to pay and Hawes seconded. All in favor Power bills for period ending 7/29/2010 and 10/27/2010 were received. Invoice from burial agent Joyce was received in the amount of $50 for marking the 10/1/2010 cremation burial of Phyllis Webster in Lot 116 of Section 7. Invoice for $36 from J & G's Service for 13.4 gallons of gas dated 7/19/2010 was received. Toth noted that the slip at time of filling was the only bill we receive and that it is important to process these upon receipt in fairness to the vendor. Burials: None since last meeting and none pending. Green Burials: Hawes moved that commission allow "green burials" beginning with the thaw of 2011 and that such burials shall conform to the policies and standards established by the commission and amended as necessary from time to time. Toth seconded. After discussion it was voted with all in favor. It was noted that the policies and standards will be drafted during the winter and that Toth will prepare an informational newsletter article for inclusion in the January Community Newsletter. Completed Annual report was distributed and read by Toth. Operations: Toth moved that Joyce contact Brian Miner to have him attempt to vacuum all loose dry leaves between Rte 78 and the wall without windrowing. Hawes seconded, all in favor. Joyce moved that we authorize him to review and approve and submit George's hours for payment once George turns his hours in. Next meeting will be set when needed by Joyce. Meeting was adjourned and reconvened at the cemetery with Joyce & Toth present. Additional tree cutting at the cemetery was discussed. Toth moved that an additional triangle of trees adjacent and to the north of the area where the highway department is currently cutting as directed by a vote at the previous meeting be cut as well. Joyce seconded and all voted in favor. The trees were flagged by Toth and the Highway Department notified of the change. Meeting adjourned at 4:00 PM Minutes submitted by J. Toth
