Town of Warwick Cemetery Commission October 13, 2010 Meeting Minutes Town Hall Meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM by chair Jeff Joyce. Present were Jim Toth, Jeff Joyce, Ed Hawes and Highway Superintendent, Tim Kilhart. Meeting was adjourned and reconvened at the cemetery Tree and brush cutting to the rear of the main entrance road was discussed. It was moved by Toth and seconded by Joyce that the commission request the highway department to cut and chip the brush and trees beyond the west end of the main entrance road. The area to be cut is about 50' wide by 150' deep. Highway to cut and chip with the chips being left in piles to be raked out as mulch by the cemetery at a later date. Fire wood to be left on site in 4' lengths. Toth to notify the Aldens as abutters as a courtesy. Voted all in favor. Kilhart stated that the work might commence in about three weeks if conditions are favorable but could be postponed if conflicts arise. The purpose of the cutting is to open up the area that eventually may be used as an extension of the main entrance road to service section 8. By opening the area now, it will potentially save us the more extensive work later by cutting the smaller trees before they get much larger and letting the stumps soften for later removal. Those present reviewed the westerly property line of the cemetery with Toth highlighting corner locations recovered a few years ago. Meeting was adjourned and reconvened at the town hall with all but Kilhart present. Minutes of September 1, 2010 were reviewed and accepted as written with Joyce moving the minutes and Hawes seconding and all in favor. Bills: Power bill for period ending 7/29/2010 was noted to be missing by the accountant with the request that we contact National Grid to obtain copy. Toth to pursue. No bills received relative to any previous burials or recent mowing Burials: Phyllis Webster cremains were buried on 10/1/2010 in Section 7 Lot 116. Burial was immediately west of her head stone which is near the center of the east line of the lot. Received check for $50 from her daughter for marking grave. Family did digging at no cost. Documents filed with the Town Clerk. Records: 11x17 maps of the cemetery with detail sheets dated 10/13/2010 were distributed and discussed Burial database still incomplete but hopefully will be ready for printing and distribution at November meeting. Annual report is being drafted but not yet complete. Completed version will be distributed for comment when ready and then submitted to Pat Lemon per her request. Accountant has given us requested income and expense reports and Toth is in the process of reviewing for inclusion in the annual report. Operations: Grass has quit growing for the season and we are awaiting the trees to drop all of their leaves. Jeff will windrow leaves along the front for Brian Miner to pick up if weather permits. Jeff will coordinate removal and storage of the pump along with keeping the leathers soaking over winter to keep them from drying up and needing to be replaced. Jeff noted that leathers and pump are still readily available at the Farmers Coop. Next meeting set for 2 PM on 11/23/2010 at town hall Meeting adjourned at 3:30 PM Minutes submitted by J. Toth
