Broadband Committee Minutes 3-27-09

Minutes of Feb. 20, 2009 approved. MTN Les, SECOND Miryam. UNANIMOUS

David gave update on construction details. Mass Electric has been
notified that wires at cell tower are down and not functioning due to
ice storm, Mass electric says they'll make it a priority.  No completion
date promised.

MTN Les: limit beta test sites to greater than -80 db. SECOND Reva. UNANIMOUS

MTN Reva: starting when we start paying for backhaul bandwidth we
encourage beta testers to contribute up to $50/month for service.
SECOND: Miryam. UNANIMOUS  It was noted that the contribution period
ends July 1 when the enterprise fund is established. After that monthly
fee is not optional.

MTN Miryam: subscribers will be charged $400 for standard reception
equipment, which is essentially the town's cost.  Extras will be charged
at the town's cost. SECOND Reva. UNANANIMOUS

MTN Miryam: IInitial monthly fee will be $50 starting July 1, subject to
review as the operation expands. SECOND Les. UNANANIMOUS

It was agreed without vote that under normal circumstances bandwidth
will be at least 1 Mbps download and 0.5 Mbps meg upload. For purposes
of describing this to the public, speeds should be expressed as a
multiple of the fastest possible dialup speed, 50 Kbps - 10x up and 20x
down.
