BOARD OF HEALTH - Rita McConville, Helen Whipple, Richard Whiting At the May 6th meeting of the Warwick BOH it was voted to balance our interests in public health with the community expectations concerning potluck dinners, food sales, fund raisers and other similar activities. It was voted that groups would be allowed to serve food that has been prepared in a home kitchen as long as the person who secures the permit for the activity keeps a log that identifies the food (by name) and the name of the person who prepared the food. *applications are available and need to be submitted to secure a permit *permits are required for all activities involving food for both profit and non-profit groups. *There is no charge for a permit for a governmental or non-profit group. *Outside venues must have hand washing facilities available. *Gloves, hats (visors) and proper care must be taken when serving food. Following these guidelines should allow us to protect the health of our community as they continue with their fundraising and civic activities. ***A full copy of the voted policy can be viewed on the Warwick website or posted in the BOH room at the town hall. Transfer station schedule will remain at 8 AM-3 PM on Saturdays until further notice. We can no longer accept car batteries. When you purchase a new battery, the seller must accept your old battery.
