draft MINUTES WED. 2 Sept 2015 WARWICK BUILDING & ENERGY COMMITTEE MEETING Meeting called to order at 7:03 PM by Chairperson JK MEMBERS PRESENT: Jack Cadwell (JC), Dan Dibble (DD), Mary Humphries (MH), Janice Kurkoski (JK), Steve Kurkoski (SK) Minutes of last mtg accepted MH presented some ideas for the "Green Corner" and discussion followed. MH will take responsibility for the monthly articles if others will help edit. Agreed. First idea will center on electric assist bikes (e-bikes). Several potential resources were suggested. GREEN COMMUNITIES GRANT 1) JK reported that all proposed projects have been accepted as revised. David Young (DY) is in contact with Guardian Energy, Energia & FC Tech to coordinate various projects. 2) Highway supt Larry Delany (LD) has 4 "Green Communities" signs and will install when time/ labor resources allow. 3) Funding for" winserts" was approved for Town Hall, Library, Police Station. Next steps discussed. JC & SK will measure TH windows. JK will review and make corrections for frame sizes & cutting lists. Materials already on hand will be determined and DY notified for further purchases. Process of assembly/prime-paint/wrap w/plastic & foam discussed. DY will be contacted to advise on grant requirements for labor/materials cost reporting/process. 4) Highway yard Security light change-out. JK & SK talked with LD. Will have LD contact FC Tech to schedule students to install LED floods already purchased. 5) Town Hall hot water situation discussed. DD talked with DY and reported DY's reluctance to have Tech students retrofit system with old 80 gal tank. Options discussed. Decided to post a sign asking dishwashers at large meals to rinse with cold only to save hot water for washing. This worked at last large meal. DD will make signs for posting in kitchen. 6) Some of the new windows in the Town Hall need weather stripping. JC could not find any in Town Hall, will talk to DY about ordering more. 7) Highway garage insulating panels have arrived. LD wants to build a wood frame shed & move supplies/equip. out of bays before insulating. SK will talk with DY to clarify what money is available for hiring labor for the installation. JC will talk with Kevin Smith, insul. Manufacturer rep, about revised drawings and materials lists. 8) SK & JK will proceed with organizing/advertising a workshop on how to use the Library's infrared camera. FERC/PIPELINE JK was asked by Ted Cady to attend two recent meetings regarding the review process for the pipeline for municipal/committee personnel and elected officials. She will report back to him on the particulars. JK moved "to send letter to FERC from the WBEC" - 2nd JC, unanimous. JK will draft and send to committee members for editing before sending.
