Announcements Peggy McCloud from CET has not gotten back to us in regards to a meeting in Warwick. Peggy will be giving a presentation on Homeowner Incentives at the Garlic Fest on Sept. 20. Conflict of Interest seminar will be held in Warwick on Sept 25 @ 6:30. Town Hall work day Chimneys Jim wrote a thank you newsletter article. We have significant problem with the north chimney. Jim has talked to Gunnar about a chimney inspection. The Fire Dept. doesn't do inspections. Steve Striebel has been contacted and he said he would look at the chimney. Is it possible Steve can look at other chimney while he is here? Jim McRae has stated that oil exhaust is extremely corrosive to chimneys. Janice said that she heard (from a roofer) that gas exhaust is even more corrosive. Can we pay for the chimney repairs out of the maintenance fund? This is a question for David Young. Can Kevin Rich sweep and inspect the chimney? Is David Lambert willing to help? At this time he only does new construction. Richard Chase is interested in the work. Assuming the chimney is unlined, should we pour a liner? We should repair the chimney liner so wood &/or pellets can be burned in the future. Jim will send an email to the Selectboard recommending that the Town Coordinator, David Young, look for contractors to fix, flash, cap and plug bottom of the southeast chimney and repair north chimney. Jim will also include a list of other repairs needed at the Town Hall. Other items What is Charlie doing with sump pump and dehumidifier? The big refrigerator may need a new gasket and new instructions for how to prop the door open. Janice inspected and found the door was forced and is no longer flat. Dan will try to straighten it. We need a new foam gun with a longer wand to finish behind the north chimney. The hot water heater pipes need insulation. More work is needed to complete cellar work: rim joists air sealing, insulation, and windows. Another work day has been set for Oct. 18, 10am-2pm., to finish this and bulkhead door, elec. heater in bathroom, finish sealing around the kitchen chimney, etc. We won't make it too complicated (do pot luck lunch), but it will be advertised in the Oct newsletter. Garage We need to get a report to Tim ASAP. Janice will generate a report with punch list giving air sealing, strapping, and insulating the ceiling priority. PVSD/ WCSchool PVSD need follow up letter stating the sprinkler system is functioning at the Warwick school. Janice will follow up with David on the PVSD concerning the FRCOG ESCo plan, esp now that Siemens has been named the performance contractor. It is understood that Warwick is responsible for capital improvements to the school, so Janice will get the school's energy data together to submit to FRCOG. Does Susan Wright want to do something in the fall with her students concerning energy matters and carbon footprint.? Janice will approach her. Miscellaneous Jim will generate a seasonal checklist for the town hall and a few other tasks in town. Pat Lemon needs an updated FY08 report from the WBEC by Sept 1. Janice will do this. FRCOG meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Jim & Les will be going, poss. Janice. Meeting adjourned 8:32 .
