Warwick Buildings and Energy Committee Draft Meeting Minutes July 8, 2009 Location: Warwick Town Hall Meeting called to order 2:13 Attending: Janice Kurkoski, Steve Kurkoski, Jim Toth, Dan Dibble Minutes moved, seconded and accepted as amended for June. Amendment "Next meeting to be held July 8, 2:00" ANNOUNCEMENTS The state DOER has included thermal energy efficiency measures (insulation) grants for oil heated buildings. MTC money We need to submit a proposal for how we want to spend the money in the MTC account. We have about $6000. If we have to put a system in quickly then it may be easier to put one on the library. Nancy will talk up the idea with the library trustees. A solar site assessment will be done by Steve & Janice for various town sites. Janice will contact CET to see if they can help us with this project. TOWN HALL Insulation Bid No one showed up for the 2 PM walk through meeting for insulating the town hall. We are contacting contractors to send Request for Quotes (RFQ) out to them. RFQ have been sent to: Celluspray, 94 E Catamount Rd. Colrain, Rennaisance Builders, Gill, Wilson Builders, Greenfield, HigginBotham, Greenfield, Eastern Weatherization Montague, Builders Insulation, 62 King St. Auburn, Liberty Insulation, 15 Underwood Ave. Hubbardston, Quality Insulation, 110 Perimeter Rd. Nashua NH. Scaffolding will be the responsibility of the contractor. Scaffolding may be rented very reasonably from: Fireside True-Value Hardware 895 Putney Rd. Brattleboro, VT 802-254-4927 Other Issues Dan will contact Community Action to see if there are any programs that would be appropriate for our senior citizens who are on fuel assistance. Committee Recommendation: The Warwick Buildings and Energy committee recommends to the selectboard that they prioritize the Town Coordinator's efforts in pursuing the competitive municipal grants and Energy Information Reporting System and Technical assistance funded by DOER, and revised May 22, 2009.
