MINUTES TUES. 19 MAY 2015 (accepted July 22) WARWICK BUILDINGS & ENERGY COMMITTEE MEETING Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM by Chairperson JK MEMBERS PRESENT: Jack Cadwell (JC), Dan Dibble (DD), Janice Kurkoski (JK), Steve Kurkoski (SK) Minutes of last mtg accepted Town Hall hot water- JK reported that the old 80 gal. water heater would be installed by the Tech School students initially as a non-heating reservoir that could later be upgraded to heat water if deemed necessary. SK has tested the tank and it is serviceable. Dan will follow up with David Young (DY) Highway Dept.; Equip garage insulation - the wall insulation was discussed. Consensus was to recommend getting the two long walls and the door wall insulated ASAP and do the salt shed end when the materials stored there are moved. It was not resolved who would do the work, when or how. JK will contact Larry and David to get the ball rolling again. JK/SK will probably switch out the yard lighting to more efficient fixtures. JK will talk to highway supt. Re; putting up "Green Community" signs along the roads into town Green Communities; JK adjusted energy costs to reflect recent electricity rates in the request for release of GC grant money. Police Station: JK and SK met with FC Tech teacher and students at the police station for site evaluation. They can install the heat pump in the next school year. Feasibility of using GC money to buy infrared camera discussed. Consensus to table the issue for now and encourage homeowners to get free energy audits through MASSAVE, whose auditors use IR cameras during their site visits. Library; Library had major ice damming this past winter. Rodent damage to insulation needs to be addressed and insulation added before next heating season. Town Hall; Donny Hayward has returned & re-installed 3 sash from main hall and has taken 2 more for refurbishing Meeting adjourned 8:01 PM
