draft MINUTES TUES. 7 APRIL 2015 WARWICK BUILDINGS & ENERGY COMMITTEE MEETING Meeting called to order at 7:25 PM by Chairperson JK MEMBERS PRESENT: Jack Cadwell (JC), Dan Dibble (DD), Janice Kurkoski (JK), Steve Kurkoski (SK) JK , from Town Coordinator David Young (DY) ; -reported that a settlement was reached with Soltas Electric for repayment of money to the Town which would reimburse depts. for high electrical costs. -Project with Seaboard Solar will be coming on-line soon. Committee reviewed and approved the draft of the Annual Report of the WBEC report for 2014 Update on Highway equip. garage project - JC will give a copy of the most current drawings for insulation on walls to Larry, the Highway boss. Discussion followed about removing National Grid pole and security light in Hwy garage yard & Hwy Dept. plan to build wood storage structure instead of metal building. Would this be as weather resistant as metal? How soon will this be done? Green Communities projects: Library "winserts" - frames have been assembled for all of the windows. A "wrapping party" to apply plastic and foam weatherstrip will be organized soon. Wireless thermostats will be installed in the Town Hall by the Tech school as a test of their effectiveness. The heat pump for the police station was discussed and concern expressed regarding the amount of paperwork required if we did not work through a state approved project expeditor. Committee consensus was to continue the process of working with Franklin County Tech School, coordinated by DY. Consensus was to recommend proceeding with Guardian Energy proposals for weatherization upgrades for Town Hall, Library, Highway garage & equip garage, and Police station. Discussed where to place "Green Community" signs, no decision reached. JK will ask who would do the physical work. Committee members were asked to consider how we might further publicize the "Green Communities" projects. Next meeting: Tuesday, May 12 @ 7 PM in Town Hall Meeting adjourned 9:10 PM
