Warwick Building and Energy Committee Draft Meeting Minutes April 15, 2008 Location: Dining Room, Town Hall Present: Janice Kurkoski, Dan Dibble, Jim Toth, and Steve Kurkoski 7:23 Meeting called to order Minutes of last meeting accepted, approved. Highway Dept. Brian Peters has finish installing the lighting upgrade. Tim was happy to report that his bill for the past month was about 1/2 of the normal usage. DOER and FRCOG At this point we are on hold with DOER until a decision is made about FRCOG. Janice and Jim are going to a FRCOG meeting on April 17 in Greenfield to meet with Beacon Consulting. Conservation and efficiency incentives are good now but may be better in the future when taking into consideration the political climate in the state. PVRS PVRS is not in our round (first) of DOER or FRCOG incentives. A motion was made and accepted by the WBEC to recommend to the Selectman to encourage PVRS to apply to DOER and/or FRCOG. Clean Energy Warwick needs 8 more 'Clean Energy Choice' accounts to reach the 6% level of enrolled households, and get the $400 bonus. This could be 8 more Green Start accounts (deadline April 30) or 8 more New England Wind Fund accounts (deadline June 30), or any combination. The Town electric accounts are in turmoil at the present. Jim will bring to the Selectboard the issues regarding the town hall account signing up for the N.E. Wind Fund. NE Wind fund contributions are matched 100% back to the town, while Greenstart payments are matched at around 60% (an equal amt going to low income projects around the state for either method). Dan will approach church members about signing up for Greenstart. Janice will get Wind Fund brochures for the library & town hall. WBEC information WBEC wants to inform the town of its past accomplishments and what they see for project in the future. Some of the information to be shared is the success of the Highway lighting upgrade and Town Hall lighting upgrade, and roof, insulation, and window budget estimates. The newsletter or a handout at town meeting is a good way to do this. Janice will make a draft & send around for input. David will print for town mtg. Dan and Jim said they will have some time this later this spring or early summer to get volunteers together to work on the Town Hall improvements. Next meeting May 27, 7pm, Adjourned 8:31
