January meeting minutes accepted

WARWICK SCHOOL

Framing Statement and other considerations 

Many suggestions and edits were made to the latest version of this
document. The changes were recorded by Jim Toth. Jim will e-mail the
document to Bart Bales for approval, then on to David Young and the
selectboard members to decide where to go with it from there. Janice
reported that she has discussed the framing statement with the chair of
the Northfield Energy Committee Bob Pasteris. He is willing to bring it
up with his committee and perhaps pass it further on to the finance
committee and other relevant parties in his town.

Safety Building

Many questions arose while looking at the preliminary plans received
from fire chief Ron Gates.
An initial heat-loss calculation was performed using these plans, and
the results discussed.
Matt asked if the middle wall was considered an outside wall. It is our
understanding that the entire perimeter is where the thermal boundary is
located.
Janice brought up that Peter Talmage, the PE from Northfield who create
the heat-loss spreadsheet, had mentioned that we should be careful about
heating the building with a radiant heated slab.
Jack stated that the three big equipment doors are orientated to the west.
Dan believes the building equipment doors face south.
We would like to meet with the Fireman's association building soon so we
can learn more about the design and siting details of the building. We
have been in contact with Ron Gates, Jim Erviti and Brian Gale. Ron has
invited our committee to the next Fireman's association building
committee meeting.
