Draft minutes Warwick Building &Energy Committee Mtg 2/17/2016 Mtg called to order @6:19 PM Members present: Janice Kurkoski, chair, Jack Cadwell, Dan Dibble, Mary Humphries, Steve Kurkoski Minutes of last meeting approved Discussed the "Green Corner" article for the March Newsletter Discussed the application process for the "Solarize MA" program. Application deadline is May 1st. The program is run by MASS Clean Energy Center and provides funding for organizing & promoting aggregated small solar installations to reduce costs for homeowners. Next month's Newsletter "Green Corner" might focus on the "Solarize" program if it is in progress. JK gave update on electric use at the Police Station since installation of the mini-split heaters; Jan 2015 = 2200 kwh, Jan 2016 = 920 kwh JK/SK reported the Town received $445 for electricity generated on the Town Hall roof for 9 months in 2015. Brief discussion of punch list for further weatherization beyond scope of "Green Communities", mostly at the library. SK will update as work continues. JK/SK reported on a meeting of "Green Communities" towns. 7 towns that met their 20% energy reduction made presentations. Most were urban communities. DD gave brief overview of letter from Planning Board to MA DPU MOTION: SK moved, 2nd DD That the WBEC supports the letter from the Warwick Planning Board. Voted unanimously. Discussed remaining /recurring hot water problems in the Town Hall. DD will make new signage for west sink. JK relayed info from Sam Pomeroy who came to assess heat needs and possible mini-split units for Town Hall and Highway Dept office. JC reported on on-going Town Hall window repair/replacement. JK reports little progress on Highway Equip. Garage insulation.
