Warwick Building &Energy Committee Mtg 12/4/2014 Draft minutes Mtg called to order at 7:18 PM Members present: Janice Kurkoski, chair, Steve Kurkoski, Jack Cadwell, Dan Dibble Minutes of Nov 13 accepted. Town Hall Town Hall 30 gallon hot water heater is not adequate for large meals. The committee consensus is to re-install the old 80 gallon heater in line with the 30 gallon heater so that it can be turned on when a heavy use is anticipated. Winserts/ workshops JC presented drawings for the Library winserts. Revisions were made to some drawings. Discussion followed of funding of materials and the process of building the prototype frame. JC will develop a cutting list, send it to DD who will contact Michael Humphries to ask for a cost estimate for milling the stock and if he can prime the stock. Green Communities JK described the "Green Communities" recognition ceremony in Boston. She and David Young attended. Discussion followed of the timeline for submitting grant applications, prioritizing projects and who would be responsible for various aspects. Firm figures for the projects needed for the application by Jan 14 (or later). Using Guardian Energy as a pre-approved project expeditor was discussed in regards to several projects. JK will call Jim Barry, western region coordinator for DOER, to clarify funding parameters and timelines. The committee's consensus was that we need to meet with David Young to work out processes and responsibilities for the gathering of project cost estimates. He will be asked to meet with the committee Dec 22 or 23. A discussion ensued around placement of the new "Green Communities" road signs. JC mentioned the need for more awareness of what the signs signify, which led to an idea to have a public event to celebrate and advertise what this means for our town, perhaps with Jim Barry as invited guest. It could be held in conjunction with the St Patrick's Day celebration/music/dinner/dance, as a play on the already "Green" theme of that day. Perhaps "green drinks" could be served via special permit by this committee. Meeting adjourned at 9:10 PM Respectfully submitted, Dan Dibble
