Warwick Buildings and Energy Committee Draft Meeting Minutes, December 14, 2009 Location: Warwick Town Hall Meeting called to order 6:40 Attending: Janice Kurkoski, Steve Kurkoski, Barbara Walker, Jim Toth, Jack Cadwell Minutes moved, seconded and accepted for November. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Janice announced that she has information to loan out on two workshops she has attended recently entitled "Deep energy retrofits" and "Infrared cameras and blower door testing". TOWN HALL: Work Day - Jim handed over the list to Janice. Janice will update the list so we have a current record of what we have done and what needs to be done. Other related Town Hall items - Jack thinks the storm windows have been ordered. Janice will block the chimney vents and finish and install the winserts. SOLAR IN TOWN: Petersham has received their check from the Clean Energy Choice Fund. BPVS, Gro Solar and Bask Power have responded to our Request for Quotes. WARWICK CENTER SCHOOL: Barbara reports that the Gym was so hot over the weekend that they had to open the doors, and the janitor reports that half of a 275 gal tank of oil was used. What about buying a half dozen cheap data loggers for the school district and use them at Warwick to document the temperatures? Is it possible to get another audit quickly to address the overheating of the gym? What about getting an HVAC contractor to address this issue when it is broken? Siemens has contacted Jim over the last couple of weeks for audits of the town buildings. Jim told them that they have made a mistake and the only building that is going to have an investment grade audit is the school and the audit is going through PVRS. Barbara will stay in contact with the school staff and Jim will keep in contact with Steve Fields, Roland Butzke at Siemens and Bob Dean at FRCOG regarding this issue. FIRE DEPARTMENT: Gunnar wants to make and install winserts on the outside of the windows at the Fire Dept. Janice has handed off a sample winsert to him to replicate, and told hims she has plastic film and edge foam in bulk for the project. It was felt that if the winserts were installed on the outside they may develop moisture problems, both from condensation tryin to escape the building and rain getting into the frame OTHER ISSUES: Meeting adjourned 8:10
