Warwick Buildings and Energy Committee draft minutes November 15th, 2011, at 5:20 pm Attending: Jack Cadwell, Janice Kurkoski, Steve Kurkoski, Jim Toth, Dan Dibble, Matt Sheldon, Dawn Magi October meeting minutes accepted TOWN HALL Janitor JK - David said that Ray the new temp. janitor may have some time on his hands to do a little extra work in the town hall. Can the committee think of any jobs for Ray? Potential punch list: Storm windows down Winserts in Build a secured area for broad band equipment Window drip cap replacement (Janice will contact David to see where we are on this) Window sash replacement JC is having trouble with the contractor moving this along. JC will contact David about this. Generator DM stated that there is some interest in getting a large generator for the town hall. The select board will be sending out a survey to the town to see what the townspeople need during a power outage. WARWICK SCHOOL Generator SK said there are many issues with the generator. Rolland Weld and Steve Kurkoski worked on the generator this past Sunday. They will continue to work on it and keep the committee and David informed. Energy Improvements JT summarized what has gone on in the past concerning the energy audit. The question is how does Warwick reap the benefits of doing the major energy upgrades identified in the audit (e.g., insulating the roof at the time of re-roofing) when the district controls the operating costs. PVRS had formed an ad-hoc committee to discuss Warwick doing energy improvements at WCS. Their findings were sent via e-mail to Jim, and the e-mail announced that they would be presenting their findings that week to the full school committee. There was not enough time for our committee to post and hold a mtg. to discuss their conclusions. There doesn't seem to be much acceptance among their committee for this idea. JK will contact Clare Chang from Gill and find out how their agreement with their school district works. JT noted that PVRSD and Gill/MontagueSD share the same legal counsel. JC said that we have spent a lot of time and effort on this and we should put all the information regarding this issue in a document that can be referenced later. School Liaison DD has not heard from Tom Zanitti about this position. Dan will talk with Tom again about this issue. MISCELLANEOUS JK said we should keep in touch with the committee who is planning to build the new safety building for the Police and Fire Depts.
