Warwick Buildings and Energy Committee draft minutes October 30th, 2013, at 6:28 pm September meeting minutes accepted Attending: Jack Cadwell (JC), Dan Dibble (DD), Janice Kurkoski (JK), Steve Kurkoski (SK) Highway Equipment Garage/Salt Shed No bids were submitted for the labor part of the insulation project. We are free to contact contractors ourselves for estimates. There is a 3 week lead time on the insulation panels. Insulation panels should not be stored outdoors. Estimated delivery of the new metal storage building is sometime "before winter". Given the disruption of highway operations during potentially bad weather, it was decided to wait till spring to do the job. We can line up contractor(s) for April 1, 2014. We need clarification from David as to what the guidelines are for the bid/estimate process, as well as the date that the appropriated money must be spent. New Safety Building No news. We have not yet been invited to a meeting. We sent Kevin Smith an e-mail asking if he has been in touch with Brian Gale. Town Hall 3 windows sash sets from the town clerks office are in the hands of Donny Haywood being repaired. He will install them when ready along with weather-strip. There is one broken window in the main hall - Jack taped it together. The 2nd floor hallway windows are in pretty tough shape and may need the sashes overhauled. The winserts are not yet installed, nor are the storm windows deployed in some (all) of the windows. These tasks should be done asap by the custodian. We agreed that we would be available should he/she need training. There is often inadequate hot water during large functions. The hot water pipes need to be insulated. We advise that the existing unused 80 gal. stone-lined tank be tested and re-installed in series with the existing 30 gal. tank. A separate lighted switch would be installed in the kitchen next to the existing one, so that only the 30 gal tank would need to be used for small functions, and both for large events. The faucets at the dishwasher sink need flow adapters - Dan will look into this. The range fan may need a backdraft damper. The window AC unit in the dining room should have an insulated boot and better permanent air-sealing around it. Adjourned 8:37 PM Next meeting will be held as needed, perhaps in January.
