TOWN HALL WORK DAY: Les and Dan will not be able to make it on Saturday. Items we can think of for "Town Hall Work Day" are: Les will make up winsert frames ahead of time. Rich Fields will paint the frames and finish building them on Saturday. Install dining room winserts that are stored in the basement. Close all storms if Charlie hasn't done it. Jack will make the last curtain rod for the meeting room. Remove and block 8" pipe in dining room and basement. A security bar for the basement double doors needs to be installed. The extension cord for the sump pump needs to be removed. Install backer rod under the baseboards in the 2nd floor offices and hallway. Seal the furnace ducts in the basement with mastic & tape as needed. Finish sealing and insulating the band joists in the basement. Install flashing around kitchen chimney. Items from our Sept. mtg. that we might not get to (but will remain on the TH to-do list): bathroom lobby lights need replacing gable vent in attic needs to be rebuilt with screen/louvers elec. box in attic over hall light needs to be closed outside door in the kitchen needs a new sweep and some attention to rust make and install more winserts for the offices make list & repair missing exterior clapboards and rotted sections south chimney needs blocking up, both on top and in basement over water pipes concrete repair for bulkhead and window wells. Related Issues: On Sunday, the church bell will be rung 350 times to bring attention to the climate crisis. This will be Warwick's 350.org event. SOLAR IN TOWN: Choices of three locations for a 1kw solar electric system were discussed: school, highway garage and town hall. Pro and cons of various sites were discussed. We all agree the Town Hall would be the best site, with good orientation, visibility, and educational value. A system at the Highway garage may be easier to site but would not have much educational value. A system on the school roof (facing SSW) is not as good as the Town hall or highway garage, but would have good educational value to a limited population. Additionally, the operating expenses are shared district wide, so Warwick would benefit from only a fraction of the electricity produced by a PV system on the school. Dan will go to the Selectboard meeting on Nov. 2 to present this. The grant application must be in by Nov. 30 OTHER ISSUES Jack reported the Town Hall storm windows project is moving forward. David Young and Gary Wilhite from Athol Window and Siding need to meet and discuss the next step for this project. Meeting adjourned 8:35 Next Meeting Tuesday, November 17, 6:30
