Warwick Building and Energy Committee Draft Meeting Minutes, October 17, 2008 Location: Dining Room, Town Hall Meeting called to order 7:05 Attending: Janice Kurkoski, Steve Kurkoski, Jack Cadwell, Les Goodman Minutes moved, seconded and passed for September. Highway Dept. Les reported that that all four windows in the Salt/Equipment shed now have winserts installed. At the time of this meeting most likely all windows in old garage will have winserts in them. A plywood wall has been installed above the office to the peak in the old garage. Fiberglass insulation will be installed in this wall in the future. An insulation machine and cellulose have been ordered for the equipment garage. All places where pigeons have been entering the equipment shed attic have been sealed. So far one case of caulking has been used for air sealing. The equipment shed has a new personnel entry door. The office now has a new window and door. It was suggested that Tim write up something for the newsletter and have an open house. Fire Department: We need a liaison for fire dept. ESCO: School has been added to the FRCOG audit list. Siemens will come to town when we are ready. They want equipment specs #s and all data for school. All data in portfolio manager has been updated through August 2008. Janice has called Steve Field, who said to use Tim Fairman as the contact person. School: Dicussed alternatives to heating the generator room. Pioneer Valley Clean Energy Plan. We discussed this and unanimously endorsed that the selectboard sign the MOA. We left the original copy of the agreement in the selectboard's IN-box. Town Hall: Work Day: The Foam gun and materials have been ordered from EFI. The start time is 9am. Hot water pipes diameter and length need to be measured. We need to buy sash cord. Should we buy insulated cover for air conditioner? Janice to call David for measurements. We need to seal the duct work. Bathroom windows need to be repaired. Items needed: vacuum cleaner, rags, windex, brush, ext. cords and lights ,miter box , angle protractor, table saw, tools to move heater, weather strip. The cleanout door on the north chimney has been replaced by Bill Lyman. David to make pizza for the crew. Big Ticket items on budget: Our list should be ready for town meeting. We should have all the paper work done by January and handed to the selectboard. We should act as though the grant will not go through for budget purposes. At our next meeting we should go through the list. Window making workshop Ask Womens Guild if they would want interior plastic storm windows ("winserts") for dining room. Steve to ask Liz Whipple permission to have a table at the craft fair. MISC: Les, Steve and Janice plan on attending the upcoming "Greening Your Community" workshop.
